Maserati Affirms Arrival of Quattroporte Electric Vehicle by 2028

Maserati’s recent announcement solidifies the anticipation surrounding the Quattroporte’s electric variant, scheduled for a 2028 release. The brand aims to illuminate its EV strategy, showcasing a roadmap that includes the imminent launch of the GranCabrio Folgore.

The Electric Lineup Unveiled: Leading the charge is the GranCabrio Folgore, set to debut later this year, closely followed by its combustion engine counterpart. Beyond 2024, Maserati commits to the electrification journey, presenting a zero-emissions MC20 in 2025 and a substantial electric SUV, likely a Levante BEV version, in 2027. All these models proudly bear the “100 percent designed, developed, and manufactured in Italy” tag.

Maserati’s CEO Perspective: Davide Grasso, Maserati’s CEO, emphasizes the brand’s commitment to change, expressing pride in delivering the most powerful electric Maseratis. With the GranTurismo Folgore and Grecale Folgore already available in the EU, Maserati stands as the first Italian luxury brand under the Stellantis umbrella dedicated to crafting all-electric vehicles.

Stellantis Dare Forward 2030: Embedded within the broader Stellantis Dare Forward 2030 plan, Maserati positions itself as a crucial segment, assuring that all future models will incorporate electric powertrains. Despite the positive strides, challenges loom, with reports of temporary layoffs at the Mirafiori factory impacting production workers and raising concerns for the Quattroporte and other models.

This strategic move underscores Maserati’s determination to lead in the electrification era, pushing boundaries and marking a transformative chapter in the luxury automotive industry.
